A noisy affair

As I approach this old man making gongs at the Kampung Sumangkap gong factory I realize that he cannot hear very well. The reason is obvious, after hammering the whole day, week after week. So he being deaf and me not speaking his language is a big challlenge to communicate, but somehow he manages to explain me the whole procces of making a gong from the beginning till the end.

Según me acerco a este anciano fabricando gongs en la fábrica de gongs de Kampung Sumangkap se hace evidente que no puede oír bien. La razón es obvia, estar martilleando día tras día le ha pasado factura. Así que él sordo y yo incapaz de hablar su lengua hace casi imposible la comunicación. Aún así se las apaña para explicarme el proceso de fabricación de un gong hasta el detalle más insignificante.
